About Piranhas

Our swim year is divided into 3 programs: the fall/winter session (Oct-April.), winter/spring session only (Jan-April), and spring/summer session (May-Aug).  For more information about Registration, click here.

Fall & winter programs focus on stroke improvement, strength and endurance. The spring/summer session (May-August) focuses on meet participation, team development, as well as stroke improvement, strength and endurance.

The club hires qualified head and assistant coaches for the summer, fall and winter sessions, and are assisted by volunteer coaches who are usually senior Piranha swimmers. Club membership usually averages 60 or more swimmers during the summer.

Swim meets are a major part of our summer and occur most weekends through June, July and early August. Most of the meets are on Vancouver Island with two or three in the Vancouver area.

We are a family oriented group, and the summer meets are not only part of the competitive swim schedule, but also a time for families to have fun together! Often many Piranha families will camp together at a designated campsite, plan group games, outings or meals over the weekend.
